A deal is at least 20% under the regular price: what the product costs on the days it isn't on special. Where we read that price ourselves, we say so. Clubcard prices are named as Clubcard prices.
This week's cheap pick, turned into dinner.
The gap: $2.00 (38%)
The gap: $1.10 (37%)
Every price is what we read at that supermarket this week, for that product only. We only print a gap when the cheapest is at least 30% under the dearest price anyone can pay, and each price says whether it is a special or a Clubcard price. These are the online prices we read for each supermarket in the week of the issue. New World and PAK’nSAVE set prices store by store, so your branch can differ.
Each price is set against that supermarket’s own regular price: what the product costs on the days it isn’t on special. Each line says whether it is a special or a Clubcard price.
PAK'nSAVE Country Pride Shaved Leg Ham is $3.59 this week. We checked it over the past 8 weeks and it was on special in 7 of them. Its regular price is $4.09.
PAK'nSAVE telegraph cucumber is $1.99 this week. We checked it in 7 of the past 8 weeks, and it was on special in 7 of them.
New World Cassia at Home Makhani Curry Sauce is $11.99 with a Clubcard this week. We checked it over the past 8 weeks and it was on special in 6 of them. Its regular price is $12.99.
We count weeks, not days: a special that was on that supermarket's specials list in at least 5 of the 8 weeks before this one, out of the weeks we checked.
Each end is the regular price: the one charged on most days that week when the product wasn’t on special. Our own reads only, from the first week we read each one.
